The Minnesota Wild blew a 3-0 lead and eventually lost 4-3 in a shootout against the lowly Edmonton Oilers Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center. Edmonton scored two goals in the games’ final nine minutes of play.

All three Wild goals came in the first period, beginning with a Zach Parise’s power play goal at 11:07. Jared Spurgeon scored an even strength goal at 13:46 to make it a 2-0 game, followed by Jason Pominville scoring at 15:23.

Edmonton would add a goal with just over three minutes remaining in the first period.

After a scoreless second period, the Oilers scored twice in the third to tie the game. David Perron scored his 24th goal of the season at 11:06 to cut the Wild lead to one, then Jordan Eberle tied the game at 15:07.

Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper allowed three goals in the shootout, while Minnesota  scored only two.

The Wild host the Rangers at Xcel Energy Center Thursday night.
