The Minnesota Wild are in the home stretch of the regular season, currently holding on to seventh place in the Western Conference with just seven games left on the calendar beginning tonight in Los Angeles.

The Wild are 38-26-11, giving them 87 points and the seventh spot in the Western Conference. The Wild lead eighth-place Phoenix by three points and currently lead ninth-place Dallas by four points, although the Stars have played one less game at this point.

The Kings are pretty much locked in to third place in the Western Conference's Pacific Division with a 44-25-6 record and 94 points. Los Angeles would be the sixth seed the the West if the playoffs started today.

The Wild and Kings have met twice this season with both games being decided in the shootout. Los Angeles took a game on October 3rd 3-2 in Minnesota, and the Wild got revenge with a 2-1 shootout win on January 7th in Los Angeles.
