The Minnesota Wild continued their recent hot streak with a Saturday matinee win at the Xcel Energy Center. 

 

ST. PAUL- The Minnesota Wild ran their winning streak to five with a 2-0 win over San Jose at Xcel Energy Center Saturday afternoon. Niklas Backstrom made 33 saves in a brilliant shutout victory.

Zach Parise scored halfway through the second period for MInnesota after a scoreless first period. Jared Spurgeon scored a goal on the power play about a minute in to the third for the 2-0 lead.

The Wild are now 18-10-2 and continue to be tied with Vancouver for first place in the Northwest Division and third place in the Western Conference with 38 points.
