The Minnesota Wild were defeated by the Anaheim Ducks 3-1 Friday night in Anaheim, CA. Ducks forward Kyle Palmieri scored two goals on his 22nd birthday to lead the way in the victory.

Minnesota defenseman Marco Scandella got the Wild (4-3-1) on the board with his first goal of the season at 9:44 of the opening period. Unfortunately, it would prove to be the only time the Wild would solve Ducks (4-1-1) goaltender Viktor Fasth on the evening.

Palmieri tied the game at one with his first goal of the night at 6:49 of the second period, then scored the eventual game-winner at 4:21 of the third. Bobby Ryan scored the final goal of the night for Anaheim on a power play late in the third.

The Ducks outshot the Wild 31-27 in the game. Minnesota is off until Monday night when they head to Calgary.
