Wild End Power Play Drought In Win Over Stars
ST. PAUL -- Newcomer Thomas Vanek ended the Wild's season-long power play drought as Minnesota uses a big second period to beat the Dallas Stars 4-1.
The Wild scored the first two goals of the game in the second period courtesy of Mikael Granlund and Mathew Dumba.
Following a Dallas goal, Vanek scored Minnesota's first power play goal - ending a drought that has plagued the team all season long.
Leading 3-1 in the final period, Minnesota's Nino Niederreiter added another power play goal as the Wild went on to win the game 4-1.
With the victory, the Wild improve to 7-3 on the season and will host Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.
