ST. JOSEPH -- Nearly 30 white nationalist posters were found and taken down in St. Joseph, Wednesday.

St. Cloud White Student Union, a newly formed Facebook group in St. Cloud, the logo was on several of the signs posted in St. Joseph.

St. Joseph Police Chief Joel Klein says one resident reached out to police to report the incident.

"We had a gentleman come in to make a complaint. He stated that he saw multiple signs with a white supremacy [message] he started tearing them down and asked me if that was okay. My response to that was, any sign no matter what can't be adhered to a power pole or in the public right-of-way."

Klein says his officers have taken down some of the signs because they were posted on power poles.

So far, Klein says no one has come to talk to him that is responsible for posting the signs.

"We'll see if it continues to happen, if it does we'll look further into it."

WJON reached out to St. Cloud White Student Union, the organization denied a phone interview.

On the organizations Facebook page they state they changed their name from "St. Cloud State White Student Union" to "St. Cloud White Student Union" due to St. Cloud State University threatening legal action against the group.
