ST. CLOUD - Hundreds of Target stores are expanding their late night hours, including the West St. Cloud location.

The Target in West St. Cloud attached to the Crossroads Shopping Center will be open an hour later starting this month.

The store will now be open from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday. The hours used to be 8:00 a.m-10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Over 900 stores across the country have extended their hours in a bid to try and boost slow sales. Around 300 stores have pushed their closing time to midnight.

Public relations spokeswoman Kristen Emmons says Target reviewed feedback on store hours and heard from guests that they would like the added convenience of extra time to shop in the evening.

Target hopes to compete with other retail stores like Walmart and Walgreens, who are often open 24 hours a day.

The Target East store in St. Cloud is not currently changing its hours.
