March 4, 1939 ~ July 17, 2016

Wayne Stauffenecker, age 77, of Foley, died Sunday July 17, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church in Foley. The Rev. Timothy Wittwer will officiate. Burial will be in the Ronneby Riverside Cemetery with Military Honors.

Friends may call from 4 PM - 9 PM  Wednesday at the Foley Funeral Home and also 1 hour prior to services at the church Thursday. A prayer service will be held at 7 PM Wednesday evening.

Wayne Christian Stauffenecker was born March 4, 1939 in St. Cloud, Minnesota the son of Walter and Gunhild (Swanson) Stauffenecker. On September 4, 1961, he was united in marriage with Alvina Wiley at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church.  Wayne farmed all his life in Benton County.  He also worked as a butcher for many years. He loved being in the woods, ducks, geese and chickens; as well as going to auction sales.  In 2005, Wayne retired and he and Alvina moved into Foley. He was a lifelong member of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Alvina of Foley; children:  Kristine (Tim) Ingle of Greenbush, Eugene (Connie) of Foley, Heidi (John) Janku of Foley,  Bonnie (Brian) Turnquist of Foley, Jill (Mike) Eichler of Oak Park, Aaron of Foley, Garrett of Foley, and Gretchen (Matthew) Selander of Foley; 23 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters:  Caroline Olson of Foley and Doris Nelson of Seattle, WA; as well as other relatives and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; infant grandson; brother, Walter and sisters:  Lois Moe and Marlene Christopherson.
