BRAINERD (AP) - A Wausau Paper plant in Brainerd might have a potential buyer.

City officials aren't releasing the name, but a purchase could be good news after the mill's closure in April cost about 130 workers their jobs.

City administrator Theresa Goble says community officials will soon meet with the potential buyer to discuss options that might return the mill to productive operations.

Wausau Paper officials did not return the newspaper's phone call for comment.

The city of Brainerd has placed its own bid on the plant's hydroelectric dam, which is being sold separately from the facility itself, and both sides are now finalizing the deal. Goble says the purchase price is not public information yet.
