The Minnesota State Patrol needs your help tracking down a semi driver who illegally passed a school bus Friday morning on Highway 23.

This video was captured Friday morning from the school bus dash cam. It shows a school bus stopping to pick up a young girl for school on Highway 23 near Paynesville and New London.

You and I both know that kids are terrible about looking both ways before they cross the street. I see it all the time. Thankfully, nothing happened to this little girl, but the outcome could have been much worse. The Minnesota State Patrol is asking for the public's help to track down this semi driver. This child could have been killed.

Minnesota state law says that all motorists must stop for a school bus when its lights are flashing and the stop arm is out. Failure to do so is a gross misdemeanor.

If you have any information leading to the apprehension of this driver, please contact Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Brian Reu at 651-405-6047.
