EDEN PRAIRIE - The unseasonably warm weather means an early end to the popular ice castles attraction in Eden Prairie.

Organizers announced on Facebook that Friday was the ice castles' last night because of the mild temperatures combined with rain.

The post says the ice castles "deteriorated more rapidly" than organizers have ever experienced.

People who already have bought tickets for this season were told to watch for an email about their purchase.

The man-made ice castles also opened later than usual this year because of the mild weather.

Minneapolis reached 45 degrees on Friday.
