WAITE PARK -- The Waite Park City Council is looking to put three metal art pieces along the Healthy Living Trail with the help an art grant.

Waite Park applied for the Public Art Grant which they hope will help pay for three metal art pieces along the Healthy Living Trail.

The art would feature a healthy living theme. Students from the Minnesota School of Business would help design the artwork that would be located at the Third Street Trail.

The total cost of the project is estimated to be about $11,000. The city hopes to get about 70-percent of the overall cost paid for through the Public Art Grant. The remaining cost would be covered through a local match of about $3,300.

City Administrator Shaunna Johnson says they are looking at using money from parkland dedication fees to pay the remaining balance.
