WAITE PARK -- The Waite Park City Council decided not to join the St. Cloud Regional Human Right's Office at Monday's meeting.

It was moved by council member, Chuck Schneider and given a second by council member, Frank Theisen.

After some debate the motion failed with a vote count of three to two. In previous years the council declined St. Cloud's offer because of funding issues.

Schneider says he was in support of joining the office for at least the first 30 months.

St. Cloud wanted to fund the office for a period of 30 months for all six metro area cities. So far, St. Joseph and Sartell have decided to join. Sauk Rapids is still considering the offer.
