WAITE PARK -- The staff in the Waite Park Public Works department are getting comfortable in their new home.

The department moved into their new 65,000 square-foot facility back in August. Public Works Director Bill Schluenz says the facility provides more amenities for staff to do their job.

"Room, functionality, storage of the vehicles so we are not piling everything in. We were forced to keep things outside because we didn't have the room. Now everything has a place."

The facility includes several office and meeting rooms, cold storage facility, maintenance bay, on-site fueling system and salt storage. Schluenz says the best feature is the indoor wash bay.

"We'll have trucks come in for wiring, straps, springs and more that's gone bad due to rust. By having this wash bay we can extend the life of our vehicles and save hours of wash time by my staff."

Schluenz says they are grateful to have the new space to continue to serve the residents of Waite Park.

The new facility is located at County Road 137 and 17th Avenue South, near Quarry Park.
