Waite Park Man OK After Truck Breaks Through Ice

MARTY -- A Waite Park man is ok after his truck broke through the ice on Pearl Lake Friday.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Department says 42-year-old Bryan Spychala was driving his one-ton pick-up on a previously plowed road when the front of the truck broke through the ice. Spychala was able to get out through the driver's side window and was not hurt.

Sheriff's officials say it appears someone had moved a fish house off the area, creating a weak spot in the ice.

Authorities remind you to be cautious and use common sense as the ice is thinning this spring.
