WAITE PARK -- The City of Waite Park is holding a public hearing tonight (Monday) regarding a new bonding project to improve road and alleyways.

The city is requesting $5 million in bonding money that will be used to make improvements to 4th Street South and Parkway Drive along Frontage Road North.

The improvements include street construction, adding water, sewer services and a drainage system.

The city is also looking to extend the current bike trail and add a new intersection on Highway 23.

The current 4th Street South intersection would close and extend to Parkway Drive. Property owners in this area would be assessed about 20 percent of the project cost.

City administrator, Shaunna Johnson says the improvements are part of their capital improvement plan.

The city asks that anyone who wishes to make suggestions or give feedback on the proposal to attend tonight's (Monday) public hearing set for 6:30 p.m.
