WAITE PARK --  A study on whether an amphitheater should be built in Waite Park was approved by the city council this (Monday) evening.

Two weeks ago, the council discussed the possibility of building an amphitheater on a newly acquired piece of Quarry land located southwest of Menards and the proposed Miller Architects hotel site.

At the time, Several members of the council felt this would be a great addition to the city, if it accommodated a need in the city.

Mayor Rick Miller had a chance to visit the Red Rock Amphitheater outside of Denver Colorado recently to get a better idea of how to run, manage and design an amphitheater.

The approved market study will help determine the best use of the proposed space and see if this type of facility is possible.

The council will revisit this topic once the findings have been presented.
