MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Vice President Joe Biden and former President Jimmy Carter will be among those paying respects to Joan Mondale at a memorial service Saturday in Minneapolis.

The wife of former Vice President Walter Mondale died Monday at 83.

Biden's office confirmed that he and his wife, Jill, would travel to Minnesota for the service at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Carter and wife, Rosalynn, also will attend with the former president delivering remarks.

Joan Mondale cultivated a reputation as an arts promoter while her husband served in high office. Walter Mondale was vice president for one term and lost his own bid for president in 1984. The couple later spent time in Japan when he was appointed U.S. ambassador under President Bill Clinton.

The service will be streamed live on the church's website.
