Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Virginia L. Kowitz, 101, of St. Stephen will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in St. Stephen. Virginia passed away peacefully at home, with family by her side, on Saturday, December 26, 2015. Reverend Robert Harren will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday both at St. Stephen Parish Hall in St. Stephen. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the parish hall. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Virginia was born on December 24, 1914 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to the late Martin and Rose (Spicer) Iten. She married Edwin F. Kowitz on May 16, 1936 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Together they raised four children and farmed near St. Stephen. She was a member of St. Stephen Parish and Christian Women.

Virginia enjoyed gardening, quilting and animals.

She is survived by her children, Marcella (Norbert) Bloch of Albany, Jerome (Elaine) Kowitz of St. Stephen, Sharon (Jason) Nicol of Atwater, Suzanne (Bill) Legatt of Roscoe; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and beloved pet, Annie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin in 1991; sister, Loretta Rassier; and brother, Delbert Iten.
