Virginia “Kay” Baschky, 78, St. Cloud

May 3, 1936 - April 11, 2015

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids for Kay Baschky, 78 of St. Cloud who passed away Saturday at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Cloud. Rev. Al Stangl will officiate and burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Friends and relatives may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Kay was born on May 3, 1936 to Orville E. and Virginia M. (Schliebe) Schauland in Muscatine, IA. She was united in marriage to Richard Baschky on August 27, 1958 in Muscatine, IA. She graduated from Muscatine High School and the state University of Iowa with a bachelor’s of arts degree and teaching certificate. She received a special education certificate from St. Cloud State University. Kay was a special education teacher at Technical High School in St. Cloud and retired after 19 years in June of 1991. She enjoyed butterflies, being a season member of the Penumbra Theater, reading and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Dick of St. Cloud; sons and daughters, Michael (Sharon) of Shoreview, Linda of Fairbanks, AK, Catherine of New Brighton and James (Rose) of Rochester; grandchildren, Samantha, Ducan and Nicole; and sister, Cynthia (George Morrison) Schauland of Fredericksburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
