Virginia A. (Reid) Colford, 94, Sauk Rapids and formerly of Silver Bay

May 7, 1921 - December 15, 2015

Memorial services will be at a later date for Virginia A. (Reid) Colford, age 94, who passed away on Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth. Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids.

Virginia was born on May 7, 1921 in Duluth to Fred and Ruby (Patterson) Metter. She was married to George Reid in 1944 and he passed away in 1967. Virginia married Howard Colford in 1974 and he passed away in 2009. She was a homemaker and was a member of Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay. Virginia enjoyed golfing, the outdoors and living on the North Shore. She loved music, playing the piano and was very adventurous. Virginia’s family was very important to her. Her sarcastic humor and feisty nature will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Monaghan of Salem, OR, Robbie O’Brien of Sartell and Laurie (Scott) Bammann of Sartell; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George Reid; second husband, Howard Colford; and sister, Catherine Ebert.
