There will be a gathering of friends and family of Virgil J. Douvier, age 74 of Albany between 1:00 and 3:00 PM Saturday, April 18 at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in Albany. There will be a private graveside service following at the Seven Dolors Catholic Cemetery. Virgil died on April 7 at the Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Augusta. Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin Funeral Homes.

Virgil was born August 1, 1940 in Avon to Edward and Margaret (Burg) Douvier. He grew up in central Minnesota and settled in Albany where he lived his adult life. Virgil worked in the accounts receivable department for the Liturgical Press at St. Johns University for 45 years, retiring in 2005. He taught himself how to operate computers and he collected models of classic cars. Virgil also loved classic country music.

Virgil is survived by his brother, Art Douvier, Avon; his niece & nephews and great nieces and nephews; Michele (James) Ostendorf and Gracelyn Ostendorf, Little Falls; Mark (Laura) Douvier and Margaux & Gabriel Douvier, Upsala.

Memorials are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice.
