Viola J. Stael, 93, St. Cloud

Viola J. Stael (Johnsen), 93 of St. Cloud, passed away on September 16, 2015. Beloved wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma, she passed away in Sauk Rapids at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 PM on Monday, Sept. 28, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. The Reverend Gerald Dalseth will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Nicholas Parish Cemetery, St. Nicholas.

Visitation will from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM on Monday at the Church in St. Cloud. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Viola was born on September 5, 1922, in St. Nicholas to Nick and Anna (Wirtzfield) Johnsen. She married Peter L. Stael on June 26, 1945, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas. She lived in St. Cloud all of her married life and was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.

Viola is survived by: her children, David (Marjory), Tony, Mary Malovrh, Therese (Bill) Maurer, Peter; 6 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters and brothers: Adeline, Walburga, Clotilda, Adella, Marcus, Roman, Sylvester and Bennett.
