EDEN PRAIRIE (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings are expecting wide receiver Jerome Simpson to play this week, despite facing a drunken-driving charge.

Simpson was charged Wednesday with third-degree DWI for refusing to submit to a chemical test, a gross misdemeanor, and a fourth-degree DWI for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Simpson was arrested Saturday.

Coach Leslie Frazier said the team is waiting for further word from the NFL about Simpson's status. He has a prior violation of the league's substance-abuse policy, which resulted in a three-game suspension last season. Frazier said Simpson is likely to play Sunday at Seattle but also said he wasn't sure if Simpson would still be a starter.

Simpson leads the Vikings with 491 yards receiving.
