EDEN PRAIRIE (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have set start and end dates for their 49th consecutive training camp at Minnesota State University in Mankato.

The team announced Wednesday that players will report on July 24, with the first practice under new coach Mike Zimmer taking place the next day.

Specific schedules have not yet been finalized, but the Vikings will hold a Saturday evening workout under the lights at Blakeslee Stadium followed by a fireworks display on Aug. 2. The team will check out on Aug. 15, the day before the second exhibition game. The preseason opener is Aug. 8 at TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus against Oakland.
