EDEN PRAIRIE -- Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith is heading to his first career Pro Bowl.

The 2012 first round pick has been one of the most well-rounded safeties in the league the last two years, finishing 2015 with 64 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks and two interceptions -- returning one for a touchdown.

Smith was considered a Pro Bowl snub in 2014 when he recorded 92 tackles, three sacks and five interceptions.

Smith, who will turn 27 next Tuesday, will replace Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas for the game, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
