The Vikings have signed free agent ex-Cincinnati Bengal receiver Jerome Simpson to an undisclosed contract.  Simpson will have to sit out the first 3 games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy while a member of the Bengals.  Simpson was a 2nd round pick by the Bengals in 2008.  He had 50 catches for 725 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2011.

Simpson is considered a deep threat and will likely play the position vacated by Bernard Berrian.  Devin Aromashdu played that position after Berrian was released last season.  Simpson is 6'2 190 pounds.
