MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Vikings owners have committed an additional $14 million toward their new stadium, mostly toward the high-definition television system.

The budget was adjusted Friday at the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority's board meeting.

The stadium will have more than 2,000 monitors, up from the initial allotment of 800. The Vikings made a two-part pledge for the television upgrade, a previous commitment to cover design fees and this latest outlay for the extra monitors and video control system.

About $1 million of the $14 million commitment is for lighting, utility enhancements and exterior signage.

This brings the private contribution for the project to $566 million, or 53 percent of the approximate $1 billion budget. The Vikings have contributed an extra $89 million since the original legislation was passed three years ago.
