Vikings Name Spielman General Manager

The Vikings announced Tuesday that Rick Spielman has been promoted from Vice President of Player Personnel to General Manager.  Spielman has had input on personnel decisions but will now be responsible for all personnel decisions.  Spielman has headed up the Vikings draft since 2006.

Spielman says Leslie Frazier will be back in 2011 as head coach and any decisions on assistant coaches will be made with Frazier's approval.

Spielman also says he sees Christian Ponder as their franchise quarterback.  He says he was 100 percent supportive of the drafting of Ponder.
