The Vikings have lost receiver Greg Childs for the season after he suffered a torn patella tendon in both knees Saturday night in a scrimmage at Minnesota State-Mankato.  Childs season is over and career is in jeopardy.  The 6'3 receiver ran a 4.39 40 at the combine but had a injury history in college at Arkansas.  He was taken in the 4th round by the Vikings in the April draft.

The Vikings will practice today from 10-12:30 and again from 2-6pm.  The Vikings first preseason game will be at San Francisco Friday night at 8pm.

Viking running back Adrian Peterson will find out today if he will go on trial for resisting arrest for a nightclub incedent in July.  He is facing a misdemeanor charge.
