St. Cloud- Honor, Respect, Remember. Three small words-- one big meaning. Years after the Vietnam War, the Veterans finally get a thank you.

The Ride for Healing campaign is a chance to have all Vietnam Veteran's parade around local VFW's in the state. Veterans have the option of touring on their motorcycle or classic cars.

This event was started by Minnesota State Commander Lee Ulferts, who wanted to help those who were still healing from old wounds.

"As I got involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars" Ulferts stated, "It became apparent to me that many of my fellow Veterans had the same feelings I did."

Traveling since Monday, to all corners of the state, Ulferts and the other Vietnam Veterans made stops at VFW Post 428, 4847 in St. Cloud and 6992 in Sauk Rapids today.

At each stop a small presentation honoring and thanking the local Vietnam Veterans was given, as well as a special gift.

The riders will continue their journey tomorrow, leading up for their final run on Saturday which ends at the Crow Wing County Fair Grounds, with all day entertainment and a special memorial to all the Vietnam Veterans.

Saturdays events are free to the public and all are encouraged to come out and join them, especially all the Vietnam Veterans.
