Los Angeles Dodgers Outfielder Matt Kemp learned of a fan at the game Sunday night at AT&T Park in San Francisco who was a big Dodger fan and Matt Kemp was his favorite player.

The fan, identified as Joshua Jones, has been battling brain cancer for three years. Watch as Matt Kemp gives young Joshua the game worn shirt off his back, and a few other things. Check it out:

ST. AUGUSTA — State transportation officials closed I-94 at Stearns County Road 75 yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon while fire crews battled a fire. Several area fire departments were battling a grass fire along Interstate 94 between Stearns County Road 75 and Highway 15.

About 20 acres burned.

Fire crews were on the scene from about 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

It’s unclear what started the fire, but crews are at the scene of a tree farm near the fire.

Special Agent Rick DesLauriers of the FBI, who is leading the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombings, just held a press conference in which he revealed that there are two suspects. The FBI released photographs and video of two men believed to be responsible for the attacks.

The FBI showed video of the two men walking through the crowd, each wearing a backpack, presumably with a bomb inside. They appear calm, and don’t attract any attention from anyone they pass by about 12 minutes before the first bomb blast:

Apparently there is also video of the man in the white cap, called “Suspect No. 2,” actually planting one of the bags that later exploded, but the FBI did not release that footage. The two suspects are said to have placed the bombs in their locations mere minutes before the explosions.

DesLauriers says he considers both men “armed and extremely dangerous,” but when asked if there was any further threat to the public, he said, “There is no additional, imminent danger that we are aware of right now.”

The FBI’s website crashed almost immediately after the press conference began, with so many people trying to get a look at the images. It is now up and running again, though a bit slowly. Below you can see all the images released today.

Stranger Danger

We all know not to talk to strangers on the street, but what about on Facebook? That’s still a big no no. A study done last year by ARS Technica says that about 20 percent of users would be willing to add someone who’s a complete stranger to their friends list. The better thing to do they say is to not totally add them as a friend, but politely decline the request and tell them that while you’d still like to interact, you don’t know them and persuade them to use the subscribe button instead. They can see your public posts, but won’t get full access to your profile. I’ve had to turn away some people here and there. I’ve felt bad, but there are just some people who don’t need to see what’s going on in my life.

Why Can’t We All Just Get Along?

There are a certain few who like to just be friends with everyone and will friend anyone who asks. If those people are on your friends list, you may want to unfriend them, or only give them restricted access to your page. Another good idea is to go into your account’s privacy settings and change everything to “friends only”. There is a “friends of friends” option, but then lurkers on your friends’ pages can see what you’re up to. My page is pretty locked down when it comes to who can see what and who can send friend requests. It’s just better to be safe than sorry.

I’m Sick *Cough Cough* HA HA! No I’m Not!

Experts say you should never, ever friend your boss. If you call in sick and then your boss sees a Facebook check in from the ball park, water park, theme park or shopping mall, you’re likely going to get fired. Complaining about your job, posting inappropriate pictures, (especially if they’re from the party last night and you called in sick today) or any number of other things could have you packing your desk. I’m friends in real life with coworkers and supervisors, and I don’t put anything on Facebook that I wouldn’t want my Grandma to see, plus I’m a square anyway, so I don’t worry, but if you don’t want your boss keeping tabs on what you do in your off time, it’s better to just leave the relationship at work.

It’s bad enough that we have ads from companies we don’t like or follow in our news feeds, so it’s a good idea to stay away from people who like to advertise everything on their page. Facebook is a great way to connect with people, but we have ads shoved down our throats everywhere we look, we don’t need our high school friend who’s in the PR business advertising this, that and the other thing and sending us invites to everything under the sun. Musicians also fall into this category. They’re advertising this show and that show and inviting you to all of their shows on the booking calendar whether it’s the local bar or a bar three hours away. I’ve had to unfriend more than a few people who’ve fallen into this category. If you don’t want to unfriend them completely, you can hide them, so you aren’t inundated.

It was like a lower budget version of Sam Jackson‘s cult favorite movie ‘Snakes On A Plane‘, except is was a bus from Atlantic City to New York and it was cockroaches. One of the passengers, Dawn Alexander, told a Jersey TV station it was like a scene from a horror movie — “There’s like a thousand roaches. And when I say infested, I mean infested. People were in the aisles literally brushing roaches off of them.”

“I sat down… roaches started crawling up on our clothes, falling down from the ceiling. Everything,” said another.

Greyhound’s Media Relations Director Maureen Richmond said the bus driver acted with urgency when the passengers alerted him to “bugs on the bus.”

“He immediately pulled the bus over and radioed our dispatch office for assistance”

Greyhound sent another bus immediately and provided full refunds.

The insects poured from vents and the ceiling spreading from back to front. What caused the ‘attack’ is not yet clear and Greyhound’s plans to get rid of them have not been revealed.

“We are investigating how they got there — in bags or from the bus,” said Richmond.

OZ: The Great and Powerful premieres worldwide on Friday night and as usual, the stars have gone out on a promotional tour, called a ‘Press Junket’. Mila Kunis was in London promoting the film and had an interview scheduled with BBCRadio 1, but the regular morning show host, who normally does all the interviews decided it would be funny to send their inexperienced intern Chris Stark out to do the interview instead.

What he got is possibly the BEST INTERVIEW EVER out of Mila. He not only asks her out (several times) but his nervousness made his questions so outrageous that Mila just loved them. Watch the whole interview below.

The Gear Daddies are back in town on Saturday Night at the Red Carpet in Downtown St. Cloud.  They’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of their first release, and even though the band only does occasional shows together, they’ve remained great friends and still enjoy getting together to play gigs at some of their favorite spots.

Frontman Martin Zellar joined ‘The Pete & Doug Show’ to talk about their upcoming show, as well as his solo material and the legacy he and the band have left in the region.  As you’ll hear below Zellar is very gracious takes nothing for granted.  You can still get new material from ‘Martin Zellar & The Hardways” at his official website.

Last week we told you about the asteroid that missed Earth by a mere 17,000+  miles and the meteor that broke up in the atmosphere over a Russian town, injuring thousands. Now comes word that meteors were hurtling through our skies on both coasts.

Yesterday on the show, it was the Teen Tournament. Always a good indicator of the nerds that will someday dominate Reddit, Twitter and the next big thing in internet media. One guy, Leonard Cooper from Little Rock, AR, was dominating, mostly from an incredibly stupid (or RISKY as Alex called it) bet on a Double Jeopardy. He bet $18,000 of his $18,200 coffer. He knew the answer and was suddenly in a commanding lead with $36,200. By the time Final Jeopardy rolled around, Leonard must have done the math, because he laid out the smackdown with THE BEST ANSWER (or Question) EVER.

The answer was; “On June 6th, 1944, he said “The eyes of the world are upon you.” The question is Who is Dwight D. Eisenhower. Although one of the other contestants got the answer right, it didn’t matter, because even if the other two had risked all of their winnings and got the answer right, all Leonard had to do was risk $1 and get the question wrong and he still won. Alexander has an amazing story to tell.  He was the starting QB for Northwestern when he suffered a life-threatening injury that ended his football career.  He then turned to music and has his songs featured on the Discovery Channel, MTV and more.

UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: Originally it was thought that Adam Lanza, the gunman, shot his mother at the Sandy Hook Elementary school, where she was a teacher’s aide. ABC has learned that, in fact, Nancy Lanza was killed at her home (by her son) prior to the massacre. He then drove to the school, where he killed 20 children and six adults, before killing himself.

UPDATE 5:25: While most of the victims’ names have not been revealed (authorities are still in the identification stage for some, and in the process of informing the families of the others), one name we do know is Dawn Hochsprung, the principal of Sandy Hook Elementary. Below is a photo from CBS:

UPDATE 3:45: Lieutenant Vance (pictured) answered some reporters’ questions and provided some additional information and clarity on previous news. He said that among the dead are 20 children, two of whom were taken from the school to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead, and six adults. This does not include the shooter, who also died at the scene. Lt. Vance said the shootings all occurred “in one section of the school, in two rooms.”

There is a “secondary crime scene” in Newtown, where one adult is dead. Lt. Vance did not elaborate on that.

The shooter’s name has been released. It is Adam Lanza, age 20. Previously, it had been reported that the gunman was Mr. Lanza’s older brother, Ryan. Ryan Lanza is being questioned by the FBI in Newark, N.J.

UPDATE 3:30: President Obama gave some brief remarks on today’s events. Here is a partial transcript:

This evening, Michelle and I will do what every parent in America will tonight, which is hug our children a little tighter and tell them that we love them, and we’ll remind ourselves how deeply we need them. … Our hearts are broken today for the parents, grandparents, sisters and brothers of these little children, and for the families of the adults that were lost. … Our hearts are broken for the parents of the survivors as well. For as blessed as they are to have their children come home tonight, they know that their children’s innocence has been torn away from them too early.

UPDATE 2:20: CBS is reporting that one of the victims is the shooter’s mother, who was a teacher at the school.

UPDATE 1:55: The Associated Press is reporting that the shooter used a .223 caliber rifle, not handguns, though this has not been confirmed.

UPDATE 1:45: ”The scene is secure. The public is not in danger,” said Lieutenant Paul Vance at a press conference. Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy has spoken with President Obama, and he is in continual talks with agencies at the site of the incident.

UPDATE 1:15: Sources say that the shooter was a 20-year-old man from either New Jersey or Connecticut. It’s uncertain as of yet whether he took his own life or was killed by law enforcement.

UPDATE 12:50: Multiple reports are coming in now with much larger numbers of fatalities. CNN is reporting “close to 20″ killed, with at least 10 of those children. CBS says 27 are dead, 14 of which are children. NBC says eight adults and 18 children were killed.

UPDATE 12:17: According to an eyewitness inside the school, three of the shooter’s targets appear to have been the principal, the vice principal and the school psychologist, who went out into the hallway when the first shots were fired. The vice principal was wounded in the foot or leg and came crawling back, and the principal and psychologist did not return and may be among the dead. There “must have been 100 rounds fired,” according to the witness.

UPDATE 11:50 a.m.: CNN has confirmed that one of the victims is a student at the school. Danbury, Connecticut, mayor Mark Boughton has said that “at least three people were wounded and are in ‘very serious’ condition” at that town’s hospital.

The Hartford Courant has confirmed that one person at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, was killed Friday morning in a shooting. Other victims have been reported as well. The shooter has been killed.

Multiple shots were heard during morning announcements at around 9:40 a.m., after which police were called. Students have been evacuated, and police and state troopers are on the scene.

ST. CLOUD – The GREAT Theatre Company is back, and this time, they’re staging the world famous J.R.R. Tolkien novel, “The Hobbit.”

The intricately staged and lit production follows the adventures of hobbit Bilbo Baggins, as he travels through Tolkien’s imaginary Middle Earth with a cast of characters, including elves, dwarves and wizards.

Kerry Kopp is the St. Cloud Tech High School Theater director, who also plays Gandalf the Grey – the wizard who leads Bilbo’s journey.

Kopp says he, along with one of his theater students, Jonah Meyer, are big fans of the novel. So, they auditioned for the show together.

Kopp says one of his favorite things about this production is being part of a 33-member cast of actors, young and old, from all over central Minnesota.

ST. CLOUD – An internationally known, Grammy award winning guitar ensemble will be performing their eclectic musical arrangements in St. Cloud.

The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet plays to sold out crowds around the world, and on Friday October 12th, they’ll hop onstage at Calvary Community Church in St. Cloud.

The 30 year old group is known for their unique twists on a variety of genres, from classical to bluegrass to jazz. According to their official website, each of the members are veteran recording artists, as well as instructors at some of the nation’s top music conservatories.

The quartet has been nominated for muliple Grammy Awards, winning in 2005 for their album, “Guitar Heroes.”

Their Calvary Church show starts at 7:30 p.m., but you can catch a free performance earlier from 4:30 to 6:00 at the East Side Boys and Girls Club.

Tickets for the later show will be available at the door and are $25.

ST. CLOUD – Police say roads near a fire in east St.  Cloud have re-opened to traffic.  Sergeant Mike Koeniguer says they removed the barricades around 8:30 p.m.

St. Cloud Fire crews started  battling the  fire in east St. Cloud at about 6:05 p.m. this evening.

Flames and thick plumes of black smoke could be seen from what appears to be metal yard at Northern Metal Recycling at East St. Germain Street and Lincoln Avenue.

Eyewitnesses report charred flakes falling from the sky in that area and popping noises could be heard.

Sergeant Koeniguer says the police and fire officials are still working to determine the cause of the fire.

No injuries are being reported to either the fire crews or police officials on the scene.

More information is expected to be available on Wednesday morning.

ST. CLOUD – It’s hard to believe, but the Christmas shopping season will be here before we know it.

With this in mind, one retailer, Toys R Us, has recently released their list of items they are highlighting as the year’s likely top-sellers.

St. Cloud store manager Dan Provost says, after research, the company selects a short list of items they showcase before the holiday season.

This year’s list includes Furby, back after hiatus, as well as a number of toys and action figures based on popular television shows and musical acts.

Provost says the company is piloting a new program called the “Hot Toy Reservation List,” where parents can put 20% of the cost down early to reserve the toy and pick it up closer to the holiday season.
