ST. CLOUD -- The VFW Granite Post 428 in St. Cloud is giving family and friends of veterans a chance to honor those loved ones for decades to come.

The VFW held a groundbreaking for a granite monument to be erected in front of their post along 18th Avenue. It will include as many as 870 names of current and past members of the military.

VFW Post 428 member Robert Lenarz says it gives people the chance to remember those who served our country who also have ties to St. Cloud.

The monument will consist of three sections of black granite, about four feet wide and seven feet high. The cost to get a veteran's name on the monument will be $125.

The Post has a goal of dedicating the monument on Memorial Day 2015.
