Vehicle Hits, Kills 82-Year-Old Bicyclist Near Minnepolis

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — An 82-year-old bicyclist is dead after being hit by a vehicle.

Allen Knutson, of Columbia Heights, was struck shortly after sunrise Tuesday and died about four hours later at Hennepin County Medical Center.

He was struck at a busy intersection bordering Minneapolis and Columbia Heights about three miles from his home.

Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder said Sunday that the driver stopped and cooperated with officers.
