Valentine’s Weekend A Busy Time for St. Cloud Area Florists [VIDEO]

ST. CLOUD -- Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, the busiest day of the year for St. Cloud Floral - but they're ready for it.

Rhoda Paurus of St. Cloud Floral says since Valentine's Day is falling on a Saturday this year, it basically turns the holiday into a weekend-long event.

"The big day is Friday this year...so [customers] are trying to get it delivered to people while they're at work and make a big impression," Paurus says.

"So our delivery dates are a little spread out this year, but we will have hundreds of deliveries between [today] and Saturday."

Paurus says they began preparation for Valentine's Day back in December with contacting flower farms and the store brings on extra help in the weeks leading up to the big day.

"[Our staff size triples], lots of great people that have come over the years to help us at holiday time," Paurus says.

For everybody who waited until the last minute, St. Cloud Floral will deliver tomorrow - but Paurus says you have to act fast.

"We still take deliveries on Valentine's Day, but planning ahead [helps]," Paurus says.

St. Cloud Floral creates many unique Valentine's Day gifts, but Paurus says the traditional choice remains the favorite.

"It's always going to be the roses," Paurus says.
