ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud VA Medical Center held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new Rehabilitation Center this morning (Monday).

The new 19,000 square foot facility will be located to the southwest of Building 51. The center will house all of the rehabilitation programs that previously have been spread out through the hospital.

Public affairs officer, Barry Venable says the new facility will allow them to see more patients.

Rehabilitation manager, Diane Losinski says the space will provide greater patient access.

The $8.5-million facility will be home to their physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and music therapy units.

Construction will be in full swing starting in April. The project is estimated to take about two years to complete.
