UPDATE: Wright County Sheriff Identifies Dog Lake Drowning Victim

WAVERLY - The Wright County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the man who drowned in a lake.

Fifty-three-year-old Dennis Venske of Winsted was fishing near the Dog Lake public access on Saturday when he fell into the water. The incident happened at about 5:50 p.m.

Venske struggled, went under the water, and did not resurface.

His body was recovered at about 7:45 p.m. in about six to 10 feet of water.
