UPDATE: Assault, Robbery Report Bogus

Steven Wright

ST. CLOUD – We have an update for you on an assault story we first told you about yesterday (Sunday).  St. Cloud police now say that incident didn’t happen.

Police reviewed video and re-interviewed the victim, who recanted his initial complaint.  The victim now says he does not recall being threatened or assaulted.

Due to his intoxication level, it’s unclear whether his items were taken or lost.

The initial report indicated the robbery and assault happened in the 500 block of 1st Street South at about 1:00 a.m. on Saturday.
