Universally Accessible Playground Meeting Rescheduled For Tonight [AUDIO]
ST. CLOUD -- The design meeting for the new Universally Accessible Playground has been rescheduled for this evening (Monday).
The meeting is to help build a fully-accessible playground for all children at Whitney Park.
The City of St. Cloud and St. Cloud State University's Student Council for Exceptional Children's Club is partnering up on the project.
Kathy Johnson is the Adviser of the Student Council for Exceptional Children's Club. She says by building this playground parents of children with disabilities will get new hope.
Johnson says they have partnered with the Shane's Inspiration Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps communities design these types of playgrounds.
Shane's Inspiration will take the ideas from tonight's meeting and build a model of what the final product will look like.
Johnson says the community support has been important to the students involved.
The meeting will be held in Clemen's Hall at the Whitney Senior Center from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
