ST. CLOUD -- The United Way of Central Minnesota will undergo a national search for a new leader after President and CEO Patrick Powell has announced his resignation.

Powell will be leaving to return to work in Ohio.

Powell was brought in to fill the role left vacant by Noreen Dunnells.  He had served as the Vice President of Planning, Allocations and Community Development for the United Way in Omaha, Nebraska, and prior to that worked for the United Way in Ohio.

United Way Board Chair Ed Laubach says they will use all of their available resources to begin the search.

Powell joined the United Way of Central Minnesota last June.

Laubach says the board will consider whether they need to hire an interim director and have not set a timeline for Powell's replacement yet.
