Unconscious Driver Killed in Crash with Semi in Waite Park

WAITE PARK - An 86-year-old St. Cloud man was killed in a car crash in Waite Park yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

The incident happened just after 4:30 p.m. in the area of 1st Avenue and 2nd Street South.

Waite Park Police Chief Dave Bentrud says witnesses report Jerome Bechtold was unconscious when he ran into a parked semi.  The vehicle was driving through the Kohl's parking lot erratically before the crash.

There were no other injuries.
