MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys and sheep will be visiting the heart of an urban college campus.

Tuesday marks the second annual Agriculture Awareness Day on the Minneapolis campus of the University of Minnesota.

The U of M Agricultural Education Club says the goal to raise awareness of how food, fiber and renewable resource products are produced and showcase the critical role agriculture plays in the economy. A broad range of Minnesota agricultural producers, associations and government agencies are joining the students in this effort.

The event will feature interactive booths and the chance for students to visit with dairy cows, pigs, dairy, beef, llamas, sheep, goats, rabbits, turkeys, chickens and ducks.

The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Church Street on the East Bank campus.
