PAYNESVILLE -- Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 55 near Paynesville this (Friday) afternoon.

The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 181 and Highway 55.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says 61-year-old Carolyn Deadrick, of Paynesville, entered the intersection to make a left turn going west, when she struck another vehicle, driven by 56-year-old Susan Kirsch of Iowa, who was also traveling west on Highway 55.

The two vehicles then struck a third vehicle, which was stopped at the intersection on County Road 66 and Highway 55.

23-year-old Shire Sirat, of St. Cloud, was the driver of the third vehicle.

Deadrick and Sirat were taken to the Paynesville hospital with minor injuries.

Kirsch and Sirat's four passengers were not hurt in the crash. Deadrick was cited for a stop sign violation.
