ST. CLOUD -- Stearns County's road construction season includes two significant projects and several others will be road resurfacing.

Stearns County will be working in conjunction with MnDOT to add lanes to County Road 1 in Sartell and create a roundabout at Heritage Drive. The work is expected to start in June and continue through September. A community meeting will be held April 19th to outline more information.

The other major project this summer will take place in the city of Cold Spring. County Road 2 will be reconstructed from Highway 23 to County Road 50. A new roundabout intersection will be built at County Roads 2 and 50 as well. The project will impact downtown Cold Spring and will be done in phases. Resurfacing of County Road 2 will also take place from the Sauk River Bridge to Highway 23. The project is scheduled to start in May and continue through September, possibly into October.

Resurfacing projects will take place on county roads in St. Wendel, north of St. Stephen, Albany, Melrose, Sauk Centre and between Holdingford and Opole. Those projects will begin in July with the completion order determined by the contractors.
