BALDWIN TOWNSHIP - A Princeton father has been arrested after deputies were called on an alleged child neglect case.

The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office says they received a call from the hospital at about 12:20 p.m. on Friday about the welfare of two children ages two and three. Deputies say both children were suffering from severe malnutrition and dehydration.

The mother of the children had returned, after being out of state for two months, and found the kids. They were allegedly in the care of their father, 32-year-old Michael Gunderson.

Deputies went to the home in Baldwin Township and conducted a search. Investigators allegedly found one pound of suspected marijuana, along with other drug related evidence. They say the home was also reportedly filthy and littered with garbage and dog feces.

Gunderson is in the Sherburne County Jail. Both kids remain hospitalized.
