Two women required medical attention after a horse accident in Stearns County Saturday afternoon.

Belgrade Fire Rescue and Brooten Ambulance responded to 40797 County Road 32 in Crow River Township about 3:30pm.

With assistance from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department they learned that 28-year old Jessica Schafer-Frikken of Sartell was riding a horse while 28-year old year old Tara Werner of St. Cloud was leading it.

The horse spooked and started running causing Jessica to fall off landing on a driveway and hitting her head. Tara was hit by the horse causing her to fall down. Jessica was air lifted to St. Cloud Hospital by Life link. Tara was transported to St. Michael’s Hospital in Sauk Centre. Both women were responsive at the scene. Their conditions were not immediately known.
