Two Hurt in Crash Near St. Rosa After Driver Falls Asleep at Wheel

STEARNS COUNTY - Two people were hurt in a one vehicle crash near St. Rosa on Tuesday night.

The incident happened just before 11:30 p.m. on County Road 17 east of Sunset Beach Road in Millwood Township, two miles northwest of St. Rosa.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says 71-year-old Russell Sieben of Melrose was traveling westbound of County Road 17. He fell asleep and went off the road, striking several trees.

Russell and his passenger, 70-year-old Mary Sieben, were taken by ambulance to CentraCare Hospital in Melrose and were later airlifted to St. Cloud hospital for treatment of their injuries.

As of 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, Russell is described as being in fair condition, Mary is in serious condition.
