Two Car Crash Forces One Driver In The Ditch

STAPLES -- A two car crash off of Highway 10, forced one driver into the ditch in Staples Township last Wednesday.

The Todd County Sheriff's says Norman Malterud, was traveling westbound on Highway 10, when his car was rear ended and pushed off into the ditch.

After the crash, the driver of the second vehicle drove off towards the city of Staples.

Deputies were later able to locate the suspect of the second vehicle.

The driver, Bartlomieji Tykla, of Chicago, Illinois, told deputies he may have fallen asleep at the time of the accident.

Both vehicles were towed.

No one was injured.
