ST. CLOUD -- Two people were arrested for an alleged connection to a robbery in North St. Cloud this (Friday) morning.

The incident happened after 2:00 a.m. in the 400 block of 8th Avenue North.

St. Cloud Assistant Police Chief Jeff Oxton says a 30-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk when he passed two unknown men.

The suspects then knocked the victim to the ground and started beating him and attempted to take his wallet and cell phone. Ultimately the suspects took the victims shirt and left the area on foot.

Officers began searching the area when they found two men matching the suspects description and the shirt.

22-year-old Nathaniel Spears of St. Cloud and 21-year-old Cory Dudley of Princeton were arrested and taken to Stearns County Jail facing robbery charges.

The victim suffered minor injuries in the robbery.
