ROYALTON -- Two people were arrested on several violations including theft and possession of drugs.

The incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. yesterday (Thursday) in Royalton.

Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen says they received a tip of a stolen truck at the Birch Villa Apartments in Royalton.

Authorities arrived at the apartment to find the truck with altered license plates belonging to 28-year-old Gary Peterson.

Further investigation found the truck was stolen from Detroit Lakes. Officers also found a fake ID belonging to 26-year-old Sheila Meyer of Royalton, and several fake checks.

Investigators found Meyer and she was arrested for receiving stolen property. A search warrant was also used at Meyer's home where they found several counterfeit bills, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Larsen says they also received a tip of stolen camper trailer at a home in rural Stearns County.

After further investigation the camper was found with Peterson inside. He was taken into custody and is awaiting formal charges.
